Every time I crave cheap yummy Chinese food, I come to Oriental Restaurant. This is not a fancy restaurant but the food is superb for the price, my favorites are the combination wonton noodle, beef and broccoli, hong kong style chow mein, and the shrimp fried rice. They also have a good variety of drinks include soda and beer! I will be back soon!

If you were to go off the reviews on this site then you simply would not go near this place. If you looked in from the outside, it may put you off. We eat across the road at the best Mexican in Salinas and have noticed this place on many occasions. We went on a Saturday night, after 9pm, when most of the other Chinese restaurants had closed. We took a chance and I have to say we were VERY HAPPY we did.

I use to go to this place because they had pretty good fried rice...but the last time I went I proceeded to pay by check as I sometimes did and the cashier said that they don't accept checks! I then informed her that when I called to place my order that I asked if they took checks and I was informed that they did...then a lady who was the cook came out from in back and started yelling at me in chinese that saying something and in broken english...STUPID, NO CHECKS, NO CHECKS!!! I was so enraged but kept my self together and just said thank you and walked out...and you would think that this would have been the end of it. But then the cashier followed me wanting me to take my order and to pay for it. Sorry ladies but you lost a customer. To bad Yelp does not have neg. Stars.
